In hotels and villas, designers often use large-area glass railings for space decoration. Without upright poles, the visual experience will be more transparent, beautiful and easy to clean. However, the installation of glass railings is not as simple as imagined, otherwise, design problems will be troublesome, especially in terms of safety (such as glass breakage, falling, etc.).
Glass is a fragile material, so when connecting glass and glass trough, soft connection must be used, that is to add flexible connection materials such as rubber pad and glass glue between them to prevent them from being hard hit. This method is called groove gluing glass fixation. Similar to the closing of glass and floor in the above figure, many designers make the vertical plate of the floor directly collide with the ceiling of the lower floor for closing. However, as the flatness of the vertical plate is difficult to guarantee, the gap size at the closing of the ceiling and vertical plate will be different as time goes by, so a 5~10mm groove needs to be reserved for closing.
Through further analysis and judgment, the finished surface of the edge railing in the drawing is not more than 600 mm, of which the concrete height is 400 mm, and the air outlet installation needs to be left 200 mm (the specific construction height needs to be determined according to the architectural drawings, structural drawings and electromechanical drawings). The glass railings are fixed "buried in the ground", collectively referred to as "groove gluing".
Detail 1: Full transparent glass as stair guardrail
Stairs, whether for duplex, loft or villa, are not only a feature but also a functional area that can not be saved or occupied.
After glass is used as stair guardrail, the permeability of glass will not affect the indoor lighting.
When the light passes through the glass, it can form another beautiful scene. Finally, it can be used as the background wall of the living room sofa.
